Google Photos
Google Photos is Google's photo storage and editing app for iPhone, Android and the web. Its Photo to video creation turns a still photo into a six-second clip; the app is free with 15 GB of storage shared across a Google Account.
Description of Google Photos
Google Photos is Google's app for backing up, organizing, editing and sharing photos and videos. The App Store listing, published by Google LLC, describes it as the home for all your photos and videos, with search and organization helped by Google AI; it requires iOS 18 or later on iPhone and is also available on Android and the web. It is free to download, with in-app purchases for more storage.
Among its creation tools, Google's help center lists Photo to video, which animates a photo and turns a static moment into a dynamic six-second video clip. Other creations include animations made from several photos, collages and highlight videos. A Google blog post announced a Create tab as a central place for these tools, available in the U.S., and said Photo to video was being upgraded to Google's Veo 3 video model.
Storage is shared across Gmail, Drive and Photos: Google's plans page lists 15 GB of cloud storage on the free Google account, with more on paid Google AI plans. Exact daily limits for Photo to video were not stated on the pages we read, and availability can depend on country and account. Use your own photos, or photos you have permission to animate. Photo to video works on a single still and adds motion to it rather than building a long scene. Google also describes other AI editing tools in Photos, and some creative features reach the U.S. before other countries.
