Windsurf is an AI code editor. Its agent, called Cascade, writes, fixes and plans code, and a feature called Windsurf Tab suggests the next edit based on your command history, clipboard and recent agent actions. The product page also describes saved Memories and Rules that keep project context and coding standards in front of the agent, automatic lint fixing, a Turbo mode that runs terminal commands without prompting, and tools to preview and deploy apps from inside the editor.

Cascade is also offered as a plugin for JetBrains IDEs. The page shows one-click setup for MCP servers including GitHub, Figma, Slack, Stripe, PostgreSQL, Playwright and Neon, and images can be dropped in to turn designs into code. The page does not list supported operating systems.

Windsurf's own legal pages redirect to Cognition, and the terms refer to Devin Desktop as formerly Windsurf. The windsurf.com site still sells the Windsurf editor, so expect the product name and documentation to shift.
